Rooseveldt S. Solomon
Born in Georgetown, Guyana ( South America ); I am truly fascinated and entertained by the cool rocking jazzy-like drop beat of reggae and the up tempo rhythm of soca and calypso while jamming to the sweet harmonic tones and melodies of the Steel drums . After moving to the Bronx, New York along with my parents and siblings, I continue to develop the skills necessary to be proficient in this unique art form. While attending W.H Taft High School in the Bronx N.Y, I was invited to and have performed with several bands throughout the New York metro and surrounding areas. After graduating high school and completing a five year tour of duty with the United States Air Force; I then relocated to Jacksonville Florida where I presently reside. I have been employed and continue to work for the DOD at FRCSE NAS Jacksonville since moving to Jacksonville in 1985. You can find me performing with my steel drum band ( Steel In Motion ) at a variety of venues throughout the Jacksonville and surrounding area.
